Q: Who are you?

A: Dark Sky Escapes is a holiday property rental company with a portfolio of luxury properties across Wales’s darkest sky places, from coastal townhouses to traditional country cottages. We offer a personal, family led experience from the moment you enquire until after your stay is complete.

Q: Can you help me find a holiday home to suit my needs?

A: Of course – our team can make personal property recommendations based on your needs, including who is in your party, what type of property you are looking for, location and even your interests. Our team can advise you based on their in-depth knowledge of each property. From romantic cottages for couples to large traditional farmhouses to celebrate an occasion with family and friends, we can help match you to your perfect place to stay.

Q: How do I book?

A: When you’re ready to make your booking, you can book online using the ‘Book Now’ button on your chosen property’s page. This will take you to an availability calendar where you can check available dates before making your booking. You will receive an email shortly after making the booking to confirm the details of your booking. Following this, you will receive a link to your digital guidebook specific to the property that you have booked, and check in instructions once the full balance is paid.

Q: Why can I only select certain days on the calendar to check-in?

A: Some of our properties have set check-in days to allow for change-overs between guests. However, many of our glamping retreats offer flexibility on the arrival day. Please see the availability calendar on the page of the property you are interested in for details, or get in touch with our team who will be happy to help you.

Q: Do you allow pets?

A: Many of our properties welcome up to two dogs to stay for an additional fee of £25 per dog. You can search for dog-friendly homes via our search filters on our Holiday Cottages page.

Q: Do you have free WiFi?

A: Yes. Each of our holiday homes has free wireless internet available. The login information will be in the cabin upon your arrival or in the digital guidebook.

Q: Is there a noise policy?

A: Yes. For the comfort of other guests, we have implemented a quiet time from 22:00 - 8:00. There will be more information about this in the digital guidebook / welcome pack located in each home.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: All bookings require a 30% deposit at the time of booking with the balance paid no later than 30 days before travel and the deposit plus any booking fees are non-refundable.

Each of our properties operates a cancellation policy which is outlined in the property listing. Our standard cancellation policy expresses that whilst we will where possible minimise the cost of your cancellation, we strongly recommend that you take out adequate holiday insurance including cancellation.

  1. If we can re let the property you will be due back all monies paid less your non-refundable deposit.

  2. If your holiday is longer than 8 weeks away, you will lose your non-refundable deposit.

  3. If you have to cancel within 8 weeks, the cost of your holiday will not be refunded, except where the booking is moved to a different date, or we are able to relet the property, less your non-refundable security deposit.

Dark Sky Escapes regularly reviews these terms and will continue to review refunds on a case-by-case basis.

Q: What should I do if I need to change my booking?

A: If you need to change any details of a booking you should contact us as soon as possible to make a request. We cannot guarantee that the request will be granted. We expect 8 weeks’ notice and the Owners decision is final.

The request needs to be in writing and there will be an administration cost of £40.00 payable to Dark Sky Escapes. If the new dates are more expensive than those already paid, the extra will be added and no refunds will be given if you are changing dates to a lower value holiday. We cannot move between properties on any occasion.

Q: What is the Security Deposit?

A: All of our properties are luxurious homes that are well-loved and looked after. As a result, pre-authorised deposits of £200 are placed 7 days before your booking to protect owners from any accidental damage or breakages during your stay.

The security deposit is usually returned in full up to 10 days after checking out. In the event of any deductions from the deposit we will provide you with an itemised bill.

Q: Do you offer Catering services or additional experiences?

A: Yes, our team can help you to organise catering services or bespoke grazing boards to be hand-delivered to your holiday home. We can also arrange additional services, from bicycle hire, gin tasting to special romantic packages including Champagne and rose petals.

Q: Can I check-in early or check-out late?

A: Check-in and check-out times are provided so that properties can be cleaned and prepared ahead of guest arrival.

Should you wish to arrange an early check-in or late check-out, please contact us to arrange this. An additional charge of £25 will be required per early check-in and/or late check-out.

Q: Do I need to bring my own towels?

A: Each of our properties will supply a hand and bath towel per person. We do ask that you bring your own towel should you wish to use the hot tub facilities on-site.
